Let’s jump right into this! People watching is always great fun in Italy, but add in:
THE FASHION WEEK &
LINE UPS outside of the big FASHION SHOWS
And what you have is a recipe for both outrageous and inspiring winter outfits.
REAL STREET STYLE VS. TRYING TO HARD STREET STYLE
Let me begin this post by saying that I’ve included a mix of real street style photos of unassuming Milanese as they dress for their daily Milano lives, as well as photos of bloggers and fashion types who were obviously hoping and praying that someone….anyone would take their photos!
Who am I to let them down? I aim to please! So the more someone tried “too hard” the more photos of them I took!
Now, I should set the record straight…. there was a big difference between those taking photos and those waiting for their photos to be taken. There was almost an unwritten code of conduct among the street style crowd during the fashion week, with the first rule being:
1) You do not talk about street style (hehehe just kidding)
the first and only rule was:
If you want your picture taken, do not hold a camera!
I could have cared less if my picture was taken because I have a self-timer and was way more interested in documenting people and outfits and yet a few different photographers approached me about taking my picture over the week which I found flattering and awkward. My first reaction was to say thank you, tell them I wasn’t photogenic and then I usually asked them to take a few with my camera too….so for posterity’s sake I’ve thrown in a few pictures of yours truly into the mix and will go into my outfits in later posts!
Here is an EPIC amount of street style photographs from the February 2016 Milan Fashion Week, let me know who is your favorite / least favorite and don’t forget to scroll all the way to the bottom of the post for this week’s DRESS TO IMPRESS linkup!
I hope you loved this. I really had so much fun street style photographing and I promise you that from now on I will report back with street style pictures from every fashion week I attend! Taking street style photos is ADDICTIVE!
But now, let’s move away from the outlandish and onto your style…..
